Why is aligment not working when container is not set to display?

For some reason, when I add a module, in this case the Flash Image Rotator module, and align it to center, it is centered until I remove the container and log out, then it automatically aligns to the left. I've tried to even align to the right, and once again if the container is removed, it aligns to the left once I sign out. I've had this problem before and after I upgraded my DNN to 4.5. Anyone else seeing this?? Thanks!

In the /portals/_default/containers folder is a container named "no container.ascx" It is the one that is used when you specify that you do not want to display the container. When you are logged in with edit rights you still get the normal container so that you can see the edit options, but when you log out this one is applied. The problem is that it has a span tag in it which is not a block level element so that it cannot do alignment. If you change the span to a div then it shoud take care of the problem.

great! :) one more question though, how can i change the span to a div? simply change 'span' to 'div'?? in case you haven't noticed, i'm still a beginner at this developing thing, i appreciate your help :).

Yes, just change the word 'span' to 'div'. You'll have to rememeber to make this change again if you ever upgrade also, unless they finally fix it in the core code.
