I procured, downloaded, and applied a (UCC) Multiple Domain Certificate from GoDaddy.  I configured DNN 4.08.04 on the Admin->Site Settings->Advanced Settings->SSL Settings: SSL Enabled? (checked) AND SSL Enforced?: (checked).  I changed the settings on a page I wanted to make secure by checking the "Secure" box.  When I use the primary domain name  www.cmfhq.org everything works fine.  When I use one of the "subject alternative name"s, the browser searches and does not find the page.  I checked the certificate and the names are listed in the subject alternative area:
DNS Name=www.cmfhq.org
DNS Name=cmfhq.org
DNS Name=www.cmf.com
DNS Name=www.cmfhg.org

Anybody run into this one before?  Any ideas?

You may need to add the alternatives as Portal Aliases in DotNetNuke. Can you get to the alternative names when not using https:// ?

Portal aliases are already listed and are working well with plain http://

Found it!!!  I had to select "all unassigned" on the "IP address:" window in IIS Manger, properties page for the website.

I lied, that wasn't it.  I did try to do a simple connection via ssl to the alternate domain names an it does not work (https://www.cmf.com/logo.gif)

That's interesting. I generally try to avoid doing that since it means that your website will most likely be listening on IP addresses that it does not need to. But maybe your alternate domains are using different IP Addresses, or maybe it is needed for that cert, I have never used a UCC cert before.

The final answer is:  Take the night off (more technically expressed — Reboot the Server).  Microsoft SUS installed an update that required a server reboot and the next day everything was working as designed.
