First of all forgive me if I’m overlooking a simple setting.
But I need help on this one.

I have a template that has a special skin that i've set for the Home page only and a separate Skin for the content areas.

THE ISSUE IS. When the user clicks links to the Privacy or Terms of Use pages, these pages come up with the skin designated for only the Home page instead of picking up the default content skin pages which I’ve set in the Portal Skin under Site Settings>Appearance drop down

How do I force the Privacy and or Terms of Use pages to pick up the default skin and not the home page skin?

Is there a setting or a work around for in the data base I can check?

Thanks and please advise.

The problem with those pages is that by default they are "Admin" controls that are loaded into the current page.  They are most likely bringing up the skin that is set as the admin skin because of the ctl keyword in the querystring.  The way to get around this bad behaviour is to create your own pages for Privacy and Terms Of Use as outlined in the following tutorial:

Thanks John...

You are by far the most educated DNN technical person I've talked with online YET....
I'll be reviewing the "Work-A-Round" and hopefully i can get this to resolve my problem. If i have any problems i hope its ok if i seek your Jedi wisdom.

Quick Question.... Does this work-a-round and "Page Blaster" work for DNN 4.7 in the same way?

Thanks for the complements (I'm not worthy).

Yes, in 4.7 it'll work the same. 4.7 has human friendly urls that take care of the duplicate content that I talked about in the other tutorial, but you still have the issue that you started this thread for. If the core team would create two more settings in Admin > Site Settings so that you could point these pages to your own custom page like the User Page, Account Login, Splash, & Home then that would also take care of thie problem.
