Hi John,

I posted a question on http://blogs.snapsis.com/CommentView,guid,c9d3082b-d7b1-4dfb-8c9c-67c0e864964d.aspx and you referred me this forum for further questions.

Essentially, I want to understand the flow of the CreateUser function in UserController. I found it a mystery of how/where profile attributes or customprofile attributes are added to the db. I followed the flow, or thought I did and could not come up with it.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance

Hi Tigris,
I just got a chance to dig into this. If I'm understanding your question then what you need to be looking at is the DNNProfileProvider in /providers/MembershipProviders/DNNMembershipProvider folder. There is a method in that class called UpdateUserProfile.

Hey John, thanks for your response. I see the method you mentioned, but I still don't see where/when it gets called during the registration process. I am sure that somewhere some method is called but I'll be danged if I see where that occurs.

Hi Tigris,

I have been trying to think of a better way to explain this, but I'm not sure what you are after.

Maybe if you tell me what you are trying to accomplish, then I can point you in the right direction.

I am trying to understand the flow (order in which they are called or just a list of functions) of functions and stored procedures called when a user is created.

I followed it myself as best as I could as I outlined in my original post, but I fail to see when/where any function having to do with adding custom attributes is called.
