I need to import several thousand user accounts into my website. There are many commercial modules available for that, but before I go ahead and purchase yet another DNN module on snowcovered (the procedure of buying new modules is starting to ruin me, as well as getting a bit annoying) I want to explore other options. What would be involved if I wanted to create the users by myself, using either VBS, SQL, a DTS package or SSIS package? I have all the basic user information in an ASCII file, so its easy to convert it into practically anything. All users should be assigned the "registered user" role, but no other roles. Thanks for any input.

Sweeeet :-) The sourcecode is a great help. I have added about 8 extra attributes to the user profile by using the standard DNN 4.4.x interface. Are these fields available if I just extend the aspx file section like this: oUserInfo.Profile.MyField1 = GetXmlItemValue(xmlItem, "Stuff1") oUserInfo.Profile.MyField2 = GetXmlItemValue(xmlItem, "Stuff2") ...etc. That is to say: Are custom fields added to the "Profile" scope? - Jesper
