Question.... how do you make a table semi transparent but not the images or text in it?

Tables are transparent by default. In other words, you can see the background of the page as long as there isn't a background set on the table itself, and you can see the background of the table as long as there isn't anything in it that is hiding the background. Maybe I'm not understanding what you are trying to do?

I mean background color. I would like to like to have a semi transparent color in the background.

By transparent do you just mean a light color?  To be transparent it would mean that you would see something "behind" it.

If you just want a light background color on your table you can put an inline style attribute. Something like

style="background-color:lightblue", or for a very light silver you could do style="background-color:#f1f1f1"

No... I do mean transparent. But not completely

Let me see if I can find an example.

That page is using a background image on the page, and then semi-transparent background images on the brown tables.

table { border-style:Groove; border-width:2px; border-color:000000; background-image:url(http://content.pimp-my-profile.com/tp/664422-70-tp.png); background-repeat:repeat; background-attachment:fixed; }
