I, too, am a big fan of the leaderboard ads, or whatever you call them. ;) I asked about this very same technique in the DNN forums, but was told it might be considered further down to the roadmap...way, way down the road. I got the idea from another forum where they add google or affiliate ads immediately after the initial post...for everyone. They also made it so the same area has an edit space where members can also add relevant information and edit the post, save the hard-wired ads. Nice touch, John. I've been on the fence toward migrating to ActiveForums, given the multiple problems with the core forums and lack of features I am looking for (and are incorporated into the Active module), so this will probably push me over the top and move in that direction in the not-too-distant future. |
