I have not been able to post to the DNN forums, they keep telling me add/edit is disabled.

I've just started working with a dev site, on localhost.

All the files are installed in c:\inetpub\wwwroot.

I slightly modified one skin whose css I want to customize, then uploaded the skin package, and the various ascx files were created.

The strange thing is that changes to the skin ascx file (e.g. adding

Test test

are not immediately shown.

Clearing browser cache has had little or no effect in either FF or IE.

Sometimes typing http://localhost instead of http://servername shows the updated text.

I have the free PageBlaster module installed and DNN 4.7 friendly urls turned on, all default settings.

The correct ascx file changes always appear if I log in as host...but not it I just simply refresh the home page as an anonymous user.

I have the DNN caching settings set to the recommended settings in the PB/DNN FAQ section of this forum.

This is the only skin on the site beside the defautl blue/gray skins, and I have only modified the above-mentioned type of text in the ascx file.

Can anyone offer any suggestions as to what I could do to make sure the ascx file mods appear when the page/site is refreshed??

Thank you, Tom

Hi Tom,

If you are using internet Explorer, try using CTRL+F5 or holding the CTRL button when you refresh the page in question. This will clear both the pageBlaster cache on the server and also your local browser cache.

If you are using FireFox, then SHIFT+F5 or SHIFT+ clicking on Refresh will do the same thing.

It seems that DNN's caching or PB's caching is what's affecting things.

Shift-Refresh works well for FF, Ctrl-Refresh usually for IE...

Okay, at least I can get my work done without worrying about this any more as I have for the past few hours etc.

On to skinning etc.

Thank you very much....I did not know about these additional 'switches' for page refreshes...if I had, it would have saved me a lot of time.

Thank you, Tom
