Hi John

Re: HorizontalHover Menu

Whilst the main horizontial menu works well, I am having a problem with the admin host list.

With your horizontial menu skin you have included a dropdown admin host menu list (Snapsis:NavMenu id="AdminHostList" Level="0-1" Type="SelectList" IncludeTabs="Admin,Host" runat="server" )

I have added the admin host menu list as above however when trying to access any host tabs I am taken to a 404 error page: e.g.

Server Error in '/' Application.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The resource cannot be found.
Description: HTTP 404. The resource you are looking for (or one of its dependencies) could have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.  Please review the following URL and make sure that it is spelled correctly.

Requested URL: /Host/Skins.aspx

However the admin links seem to work fine. Do I need to add or edit anything to make the host menu links work?

Thanks

Lynn

Hi Lynn,
You may have ran into a bug that I had introduced during some recent new enhancements.
I'll send you an update.

Hi John

Thank you. I am pleased that a solution is available so quickly.

I will inform you I receive the update, as I have in the past, encountered occasional difficulties with your emails getting through.

Thanks
Lynn

Hi John,

I too am having this same issue

but only on a 4.07 site and not a 4.05.03

I also having issues with other pages but not near as bad. Could this be causing that as well or do I have other issues?

Thanks

Gary

Hi Gary,

Are you using the new Human Friendly Urls in 4.07?  I think it is having intermittent problems which I have also noticed on a few occasions.

Are you able to reproduce the error?

The software for the menu is the same for both versions of DNN, so I don't think it is the menu, but if we can reproduce it I may be able to come up with a work-around.

I re-enabled PageBlaster and unchecked the Friendly URLs

I also have:
Page State Persistence: Page
Module Caching Method: Disk
Performance Setting: Moderate Caching
Authenticated Cacheability: Server and No Cache
Compression Setting: No Compression
all other options set to default.
Anything else I should change? Does 4.07 have enough bugs in it that I should consider using 4.05.03?

After making the changes above I clicked around some and logged out and logged in as host and things seem to be working okay but a little slow. Any other suggestions or a work around for the friendly URL issue would be great.

thanks!
Gary

I recommend changing Module Caching to memory which will improve performance for logged in users.
Also change Authenticated Cacheability to Public.

4.08 should be out shortly to take care of several bugs in 4.07 so I wouldn't go back.
