Is it possible to get the Silver tabs hover menu to have the second level a vertical menu instead of a horizontal menu

I have set the width to 200px in the nacChinld, and this makes the menu vertical, but the position of the menu is always the same, is there some eacy way to get the now vertical menu to correctly position itself underneath the correct  - you can see the issues i am having with the menu here

I would use Suckerfish, but i have customised the Silver Tabs hover menu to use overlapped images, and this is difficult to reproduce in suckerfish

It looks like you are almost there.

I have had this question asked a lot recently so I made an example.

It took me a while to find where I posted the attachment, but I found it and pinned it to the top of this forum.

Horizontal Tabbed Menu with Vertical Flyout

That one makes the child menus line up correctly.

If you would like to share your template when you get finished, I'm sure there are others that would also like a menu like that, myself included ;)

Ok, I thought it worked in IE7, but I'll see if I can figure out what's going on.

John I'm in the need (okay want) of a tabbed menu and was looking at NavMenu as a possible solution. I copy and pasted your SilverMenu from the link you provided above and it seemed to work fine but is it possible to have the Admin/Host menu show up as a tab? I'm using 3.1.2 version that I got when I was a subscriber to SkinCovered as my eval version.

FWIW your silver menu appeared to me to work fine in IE7 but it is doing strange things when I started changing the images. Not sure what's up with that yet.

Oh wow. I forgot to follow up on this. Sorry about that.
Tezza,
The attachment you included is not unzipping, says it is corrupt. Could you upload again please?

Mike,
Yes, you can include the Admin & Host menus with the regular tabs if you like. Just take out the property that says ExcludeTabs="Admin,Host".

I thought I'd tried that but maybe I didn't (I was doing about a dozen things at the same time this afternoon). I'll check when I get to work tomorrow morning.

Ok, I can unzip that attachment.
It looks like you are using a different hybrid approach instead of the skin from the other post that I pointed to earlier.

I think you'll find it a lot easier to put your images into the skin I did for this purpose. You will also have a lot less CSS that way.

I did look at your version, but it doesn't have a skin included, so I don't know exactly how you would have it setup.

The Horizontal Tabbed Menu with Vertical Flyout menu doe not work correctly in IE 6 or 7, you need to add these two lines to the css to make it work correctly

#nav li.tab:hover, #nav ul li.sfhover {background-position: 0% -22px; color:#333;}

#nav li.tab:hover a, #nav ul li.sfhover a {background-position: 100% -22px;}
