Hey John

I'm giving your trial version a try and am trying to change the SilverHoverTabs to see if I can get it to work the way I want it to. However I'm running into a problem where the tab isn't changing when it's hovered over. Ideally I want the tab only to show up when hovered over. I created a new 300x300 image and sliced it as per the documentation (tab-left.gif is 10px wide). Originally I didn't do anything to the top half and just left it transparent. When I didn't see anything showing up I made a copy of the tab but made it black instead of white. The black tab shows up but when I hover over it just shows a black square.

You can see an example of what I'm seeing at http://skins.gmss.org/TestPage.aspx. What I want it to end up looking like is the Gray Skin but a tab instead of a rectangle. Any ideas on what I've done wrong? Is it because the images are taller and tab-right isn't as wide? What needs to be changed so that the image sizes work (if that's the case)?

Okay made my images exactly the same size as the ones that were currently in the skin and that worked. I'm going to keep testing it but in case you see this before I figure it out I'd be interested in how we can adjust the height of the tab.

FWIW this is pretty much a tableless design. It just has a single table wrapping around everything.

The tabs should auto-adjust when the text gets bigger. If you want to make the tabs taller without changin the text size then you can put padding in the anchor class.

something like

#nav li a { padding:10px 2px 10px 2px; }

Yep I've got that example. I was just working on comparing that with the Suckerfish template and the original SilverHoverTabs. It would probably be easier to just go with the example and leave it at that.

One thing I have noticed with your linked example and the Suckerfish template is that they don't show all the child menus. Just the last one.

Not showing some child items for a template type sounds like an old bug. When did you get this trial?

Oops, I downloaded the Trial version on Wednesday or Thursday but I had the 3.2 version from last July's Skincovered in my bin directory. Sorry 'bout that.

Hey again John

I've gone with the example you posted and got that working. A couple of things I'm not sure how to do (I suck at Javascript and CSS). I still can't get the text to pad up to the center of the menu bar like I'd like. Also, is there a way with the example that you posted to have the tab still appear as selected when it's the active tab or parent tab for a sub menu item?
