John,

I just got my new site skin going with the CSSNav menu, the main site looks awesome and is incredibly fast if I am not logged in.  My page loads are about 1 second faster and the page size went down quite a bit.

However, I have noticed that if I am logged in and in edit mode that my site is actually a bit slower.  have you ever experienced anything like this?  is it due to the solpart action menus for the individual controls?

Excellent, I'm glad you noticed a difference. It should not be any slower when logged in than it was before, but it will be a little slower than when you are logged out with this menu.
The menu caches for unauthenticated users only.

I would still expect it to be much faster than Solpart to render since it is simple html and does not have to do any client-side parsing of XML, but I haven't measured any client-side speeds.

Actually it appears that it was a temporary issue.

I am now noticing normal page loads of about 1.3 seconds faster, or almost 50% faster when I am not logged in.

When I am logged in as host I am noticing about .5-.8 seconds faster than my previous load times.

Man am I impressed!
