John,

Do you have a trick for StartTabId, that is, to set the root for the menu?

Apart from the main menu, I want to have a "fairly fixed" list of menu items, independant of the page the visitor is looking at. I now use the include tabs option, but this is not optimal because the site owner may decide to add items or change their names and then needs to change his skins.

Thanks,

Peter

Hi Peter,
What I have done in the past is to create a hidden page as the "Placeholder" for a particular instance, and then make that page and all of it's children included in the menu. Then when the end user wants to add an item to a specific instance they just make it a child of the placeholder page.

ok that worked, what I did was the following:

 Level="1-1" ShowType="ChildrenOnly" IncludeTabs="HiddenPlaceholderTab"
