I installed NavMenu and tried  the HorizontalHover, TopTabsB en SilverTabHover skins on my localhost. For some reason the host and admin menu don't appear while being logged in as host. Logging with an admin account the admin menu does show up.

What might be wrong with the menu or the host-account?

When logged in as Host the Admin menu and the Host Menu are combined into the single drop-down list.

If you look in the drop-down list you should see host items below the admin items.

But there's no admin/host menu at all when logged in as host, only items from id="nav".
Logged in as admin the admin-items of "AdminHostList" do display.
Any specific needs for the host-login/account that need consideration?

That is strange.  No, there isn't anything specific that the host account needs.

The menu does have an option to display by role, but that shouldn't be set for the samples.

Try making sure that you are not in Design or View mode with the host account although that shouldn't cause this either.

Also try restarting the application.

I was unable to make changes to the Host account profile for some time, which didn't hurt up till now.

Searched the DNN forum and came across this post which describes how to change "~/admin/users/App_LocalResources/Profile.ascx.xx-XX.resx" as a workaround for this profile-problem. While this helps for changing the host-profile it doesn't solve my Snapsis menu problem.

I did some further testing with switching languages. Et voila!
The host menu does show up when the host is English.
A Dutch host can't see the adminhostlist at all, whereas a German host can see the admin-part, not the host-part.

I'm using DNN 455 with matching language-packs.

Hard to believe that I'm the first non-native-English host using the Snapsis menu ?!

Is there anything I can change in the Locale as a  workaround?

Oh, I should have asked about it being in a different language. This has happened before. If you look at the properties there is one called IncludeTabs="Admin,Host".

If you are using a different language then you need to specify the IncludeTabs with the name in your language.

OK, thanks for your swift replies.
Question now is, will this issue be on your to do list for the menu or the manual :-?

It's not really a bug, but you are right that I do need to document it better.
