Hi. I have been using navmenu and like it. But after I moved to a new server there is an error when loading my sin I can't figure out my self. If I upload the skin to another server (DNN 4.6) it works, but on the new server (Tried DNN 4.6, 4.7 and 4.8) the same error come up: Could Not Load Skin: /Portals/0/Skins/hjorth-boelskfite/hjorthboelskifte.ascx Error: Could not load file or assembly 'Snapsis.DNN.NavMenu' or one of its dependencies. The module was expected to contain an assembly manifest What am I missing? Hope You can help... Bo :-)

Hi Bo, It sounds like the new server does not have the ASP.Net version 1.1 (or higher) framework installed.

Hi John. Thanks. If it is the same as Microsoft .net framwork version 3.5 is installed. Is there a way of seing everything is installed properly? Bo :-)

You just need to make sure that the Snapsis.DNN.NavMenu.dll is in the /bin folder. That file may be corrupted even if it is there, so you should delete it and upload again.

Hi John I have redownloaded the module from Snowcovered, Deleted the dll file from the bin file and reinstalled the module. Same error :-( Bo :-)

I've been researching this error as I have not had anyone report this type of problem before. So far all I can come up with is that maybe two files exist in the /bin folder and one is an exe or the wrong the framework just doesn't recognize the DLL as being valid. This is compiled under the 1.1 framework and should work on all above that, but maybe if you installed the 1.1 framework and then re-installed the 3.5 it would fix it.

Hi. Hmm.. Maybe I'm not doing it right, but.. what 2 files in the /bin folder are you refering to? have updated the framework but nothing seems to work. Is the a way to debug and see where the error is? Unfortunately the server is rebuilding a raid so I can't reboot, but later to day it should be ready, and them I'll uninstall all framework and install framework 1.1 and 2.0. Any other ideas or suggestions on a workarround? Bo :-)

I wasn't referring to any specific two files, that is just what i saw in reference to this error on other forums. Like maybe there is a Snapsis.DNN.NavMenu.exe and a Snapsis.DNN.NavMenu.dll which I highly doubt. I have to admit that it has me stumped. All I can think of is to re-install the ASP.Net framework. But I don't have much confidence that will work either. If you still can't get it to work, let me know and I'll compile the project using ASP.Net 2.0 to see if that helps. The reason I compile it with 1.1 is so that if someone hasn't upgraded to 2.0 yet it will still work.

Hi John. Sounds great. I'm trying to uninstall and install again today and will let You know. The weird part is that everything else seems to work?? I'm confused. But is there a way to debyg (to see if the file is loaded and so) Bo :-)

No, you can't really debug it because the error is saying that ASP.Net doesn't even recognize it.

Hi Jonh. :-( I reinstalled framework and just as You said it didn't help. If it isn't to musch work I would be happy to try a 2.0 compiled version. Bo :-)

John, Get I get a copy of the 2.0 Snapsis.DNN.NavMenu.dll too because I experience the same problems. Thx Patrick
