I just downloaded the Aug Goodies from skincovered.com which included 25 different Snapsis menus.  I currently use a horizontal Snapsis silver tab hover menu on www.AgingSafely.com. I thought that I might try one of your vertical menus in a 2 column skin and see how it looked and looked and worked.  When I looked the guts of "GlossyV" I saw both a parent and child template I ASSUMED that it would work for a multilevel page hierarchy. However, after I looked at the aspx and saw only a level="0" -  I was unsure.

Do these Snapsis vertical menus that are part of the Skincovered package work for a multi-level page hierarchy?  Do you have a suggestion of a Snapsis vertical menu setup that would work?

They should work. You may need some CSS tweaks to get the same look on the other levels, but the graphics are there for the Root Level.

Nina created all of those menu graphics and I haven't had an opportunity to use them yet, so I can't say exactly what changes may be needed.

It is not a question of CSS I don't think.  There is only one Snapsis menu entry in the skin and it has just a level="0".  To make the child menu work in the Silver Tab hover it required a second Snapsis menu line with level="1-3" and correct placement in the skin below the first menu line.

ASSUMING that the seconf line isn't required in this case I tweaks the level to "0-3" with no success. Since the child menu would/should be intertwined with the parent in this case I can't see where I would place it.

If you want I'll take this up with Nina in her forum. I asked here because I knew that you'd answer a lot quicker ;=}

You'll need to make sure you are using a Hover type menu if you want to do it that way. It may have NavType="TabList"

I actually ended up using your "LeftBlueNav" from the Snapsis meue distribution. I took a 2 column version of my skin got rid of the silver tap hover menu in the header and placed the menu from the "LeftBlueNav" in the left pane.

I re-styled it in FireFox and tweaked the widths etc in Ie and all looked well.

However, when I log out all of the content from the menu disapears! It isn't placed off of the screen - it isn't in the html file at all. This applies to both IE and Firefox.

I didn't realize that DNN gave us the options of visibility on a per-pane basis and I don't want it.  I have checked all of the settings and they look right.

I assume this is some stupid typo but I have looked a lot of places. All of the elements are visable as long as you are logged in as page editor.

If you are logged in as a non-priv user or are logged out you can't see them.

Got any ideas?

While chopping veggies for dinner I figured it out. I had placed the menu in the LeftPane.

The LeftPane expect modules. By deleting the LeftPane from the aspx. and placing the menu in the sidebar all became well.

I'm glad you figured that out. I was scratching my head on that one.
