John,

I just purchased your CSS Menu module and am working on a few minor issues to make it a viable solution for one of our clients.
I need to address these issues:

  • Hide/Remove Tooltip on Mouse-over
  • Align child menu directly beneath selected parent menu item (rollover and click)

In general our client is looking for a menu similar to this one http://www.microsoft.com/windows/default.mspx (the black menu with rollover effect)

For your reference, here is our existing development site where we have a partial solution, and I've attached the relevant skin and css files.

Thanks,
Chris

Hi Chris,

Thanks for purchasing.

Your best bet is to use the ActiveResetHover menu sample which is almost exactly like that one (except for graphics & style).

It has a template where you can remove the title from the anchor tag.

It'll probably be easier to get the parent and child menu's to align like you want also, because they are in seperate templates.

Hi John,

Would you mind sending me a link or more specifics on finding the ActiveResetHover menu sample. I looked in the skins and on your samples on the snapsis.com site and didn't find the ActiveResetHover sample listed.

I'm guessing I'm just not seeing it on my end. Thanks for your help.

Chris

Hi Chris,

It should be in the Skins folder of the original download package.

I have also attached it here for convenience.

Hi John,

I too have purchased the CSS Nav Menu and have got it to work with some cut and past of the sample skins.  Awesome, compared to the other i was trying to get working (and failed).  But, I too would like a similar style/function as the microsoft nav.  I have downloaded the zip file attached to this post.  Here is my dilemna - I have no experience with html tables (and do not want to use if possible) and the same with *.ascx. files  or creating templates as included with the above zip.   I do have moderate (can usually figure it out) experience with CSS and html.  I have created dnn skins with an *.html, *.css, *.xml and *.xdoctype.xml and image folder etc.  What do you think is my best route to take for implementing this "skin/template"?  Do you have these skins in the format that I am accustomed too?  Your guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Steve B

Wow, I did not know if I could just delete this, but after actually looking at the ascx in detail,  do you just cut the html with tables out and replace with divs?

Hi Steve,
I think you contacted me directly about getting this one figured out, but I'm not sure if your last question was answered.

What do you mean about cutting the html out and replacing with divs?
