Hello..

I'm creating a website, and doing a horizontal navigation with tabs, using the snapsis menu.. in the mozilla the navigation is working fine.. but when i saw the navigation in the internet explorer version 7.0 i saw that some problems happen.. so, if someone can give me a help, to how fix this things, i will really appreciate.

To be more easy to explicate what are the problems, i put HERE the url for the website.. the problems are: 1.how you can see the hover for the menu dont show the left image..  2. i dont know why the IE create a little space between the ParentTabsContainer and the ChildTabsContainer.. ok.. these are the problems that i need fix.. and would like your help..

Thanks a lot,

Jorge Carvalho

Hi Jorge,
For the first problem it is related to the issue of IE not being able to do the :Hover psuedo class on an anchor. You can work-around that issue by using the behavior:url("DesktopModules/Snapsis/NavMenu/csshover.htc");
Look in the TopTabsB example skin to see how it is done.

If you are using version 3.3 you could also do it by using a template and putting the mouseover in for IE as shown in the ActiveResetHover sample.

For #2 you may be able to do it without using a container around the parent tabs, otherwise just make sure there is no padding or margin because the box model is different with IE.

I'm not sure what you mean about the selected Tab "crashing" with the submenu.

Hello John.. I follow the TopTabsB, so i putted the sambee havior code and dont worked.. so, i saw in the ftp and the right url, that is this one that you posted.. but is not working, so i gone to the NavMenu folder, and i saw that dont have any csshover file there.. so, i search in the google, found a csshover.htc file.. put in the NavMenu folder and i call for this url in the behavior, but is not working too..
I'm really confuse.. so, i gone have a look in the live example of the TopTabsB (Top Blue).. and the behavior in the css is this one: "DesktopModules/SnapsisDNN/NavMenu/csshover.htc"S

So, what i tryed is put this url in the website of the demo, like this: http://demo.snapsis.com/DesktopModules/SnapsisDNN/NavMenu/csshover.htc

But this page cant be found.. so, i tryed with this behaviour that you posted.. like that:

http://demo.snapsis.com/DesktopModules/Snapsis/NavMenu/csshover.htc

And the brownser found the csshover.htc what means that the live example of the TopTabsB is not using the behavior.. right?

Now, after all this tests, what i stayed more confused.. if you can help me, this thing is letting me crazy.. wow!!.

Thanks a lot..

Jorge

That is strange. You are right about that csshover.htc behaviour not having the correct link in the demo. It was an older sample and the folder was called SnapsisDNN a long time ago. Now I'm not even sure how the BlueTabs sample is working on the demo site.
I'll try and figure it out, but if you use that csshover.htc with the correct link it should fix your problem.

Hello.. Well, i'm right that in the demo the behaviour is not with the right url.. you can see.. have a look in the ftp, if the exist some SnapsisDNN folder.. or is only Snapsis.. So, how i saw that the BlueTabs is working fine across the Internet Explorer without using the behaviour i maked some tests, and i found the solution for the problem with the hover for the left part.. and is so simple, i dont know why, but i think that the Internet Explorer 7 (that i thought that this version had solved this problem) have some incompatibility with the png files.. so, i changed the files for the jpgs files.. and now that problem its working..
But i still with some little problems.. that little white space between the main menu and the sub menu, i tryied put a container around the ParentTabs, and i already checked for margins.. but still not working..
And the last problem.. when i sad to you about the selected tab is not "crashing" with the submenu, i mean that in the mozilla the selected tab of the main menu is joined with the submenu.. but in the internet explorer they are not joined, in the IE the selected tab apresent like a border bottom, that remove the real impression of tabs..

Thanks a lot..

Jorge

Hi Jorge,
I understand now that you are mentioning the same problem since the overlap is not working correctly in IE.
Try adding top:1px; to the #ParentTabsContainer, and you may also try using z-index to bring the Parent Tabs up to the top.

You may have wanted to say "combining" or "collapsing" instead of crashing, but no worries, your English is very good.
