Hello,

I'm sure this question has been answered, but alas I could not find it on the forum.  I searched upgrade in the forum and read all 8 pages of returned posts none answered my question.

Recently I have been investigating upgrading my DNN installs that are not upgraded to 4.8.2, (soon to be 4.8.3)

I have learned that when compression was first used in the DNN core 4.4.0 and 4.4.1 there were problems, these problems were solved (I think) by version 4.5.0.  During that time it became a best practice to disable the core compression during an upgrade process.

Would you still consider it best practice to disable the core compression in the web.config before attempting an upgrade?

As I recall, if you were using blowery, you had to disable that too before the DNN upgrade.

Was it ever a best practice to disable pageblaster before a DNN upgrade?  And if so, is it still the best practice?

Also, If I was using pageblaster on an older version of DNN4  (4.0.X - 4.3.7) and I upgraded to 4.4.1+, does the introduction of the core compression require any extra steps?  I realize at the very least you would need to remove the core compression from the web.config (release.config)

Have a good day =D

And Thanks in advance....

Hi,
No, you do not need to disable PageBlaster to do an upgrade to DNN.
Yes, you do need to remove the core compression module when using PageBlaster.
