Numerous calls from the customers that our site http://www.TableTennisStore.us is damn slow. Just two days back I had to block pages from unathenticated users. The users have to login to view the pages. Did that cause this problem of performance again?

1. I thought the menus on the site may be delaying the loading. That did not help.

2. I removed the google chat back code. That did not help.

3. Do I need to disable the DNN caching for the PageBlaster to work successfully?

4. Do I need to set the compression in DNN?

5. The CATALookStore module advises to use the DNN memory caching to increase the performance of DNN. Should I set the memory cache of DNN.

6. I have already spoke to my hosting company few times. Every page other than the pages where the CataLookStore ItemPane module comes up fast with lightning speed. Is CataLookStore ItemPane module bypassing the PageBlaster cache.

7. I have noticed that CataLookStore uses its own cache. I think the PageBlaster is not effecting because Catalookstore manages its own cache. Can this be changed by disabling the DNN cache all together and run through PageBlaster?

I appreciate any feedback.

The performance has increased after I've made the pages public. I think the PageBlaster will perform better if the pages have anonymous access.

I checked last night and again this morning and everything was fast for me.

Yes, PageBlaster only caches anonymous users by default. You can cache logged in users by setting the cached-roles, or cached-users properties in the config file, but I don't recommend that since the performance increase is not very good when each user gets their own cached page.

Catalook pages are cached by PageBlaster, except for the page that generates the thumbnail images, so if you have a lot of products on a page it can be slow to generate all the thumbnails.

Thanks John.

I think you are seeing the pages faster after I have made the pages public.

I have also found out that there were so many open connections caused by Catalook. I worked with the hosting company to close all the open connections. I think Catalook Advanced Catagories Module has some issues - probably keeping the connection opens afte you make changes to the advanced categories options.
