| Hi John, Awhile back you helped me set up the 301 redirects with the paid version on my website. We just went live today www.FEECO.com and tried going out to the search engines and test the redirects. They are redirecting to our home page when on the website we have them configured to go to the new specific page. Can you please help me, we need to get this resolved asap. Ex. On yahoo we typed in Rotary Cooler and we come up first - FEECO.com/Products... (http://search.yahoo.com/search;_ylt=A0geu6Wc7F9IzSoBX9FXNyoA?p=rotary+cooler&y=Search&fr=yfp-t-501&ei=UTF-8) and when I click on it it goes to the "user log in" page and some of them go to the home page. Do I have something set up incorrectly? I can email you my PageBlasterPortalRulesΎ].config if you'd like to take a look. Thank you very much. | | | |

| Hi Steph, I did that search and clicked on the link and it went directly to the page: http://www.feeco.com/Products/ThermalProcessing/RotaryCoolers/tabid/29/Default.aspx
No 301 redirect at all. A good 301 redirect will work like this in a search engine index, they will index the new page so that the 301 redirect is not required.

| But that page: http://www.feeco.com/Products/ThermalProcessing/RotaryCoolers/tabid/29/Default.aspx is no longer. It is now http://www.feeco.com/ProductsandServices/ProductLine/ThermalProcessing/tabid/88/RotaryCoolers.aspx.
Maybe I'm not understanding correctly. I thought with this module when I added the redirect in the pb admin with the url above it would redirect to the the other url above. That way in the search engines when the user would click on http://www.feeco.com/Products/ThermalProcessing/RotaryCoolers/tabid/29/Default.aspx they would be redirected to our new page http://www.feeco.com/ProductsandServices/ProductLine/ThermalProcessing/tabid/88/RotaryCoolers.aspx. This way we would keep our seo rankings as well as the users who did the search would be able to get to the correct page. Am I wrong, and not able to do this?

| Ok, no you are right. I just didn't know it was going to the old page.
There isn't any 301 redirecting it to the new page, so there must be something wrong with the rule, or maybe the license is not applied on your live system.
Go ahead and attach the portalrules config file, and also check your PageBlaster license.

| | Under Admin>PageBlaster click on the Configuration node to set/check the license. | | | |

| The config file looks good, so maybe it is just the license. | | | |

| Ok, wierd thing...I can't find the license key area. Here is a screenshot of my Configuration tab. I think I am missing it, because I had the free one installed on a different website, and that one has the license key area. I am running version: 03.01.02 on the feeco.com site where I don't see the license key area. |

| | I looked through all of my order receipts also, for the key to put in on our paid version and I don't see it in any of the emails. | | | |

| Interesting, the only order I have for you was for PB 2.2.4
I just created a coupon code so you can order 3.2.2. I'll send it to you through private message.

| | Thank you John, I just got your pm. Is there anything special I need to do as I am upgrading versions? Do I just install the new version over the old one? Will I have to enter in any of my rules or anything again? Will I get my registration code once I download the new version, or do I need to have you re-issue the code for me. thanks! | | | |

| Just install over the old one and it will automatically upgrade. Everything will be carried over from the old version.
The license code, and the download link will be found with your order details under My Orders.

| | Hi John, just installed the new version and license key. Thank you for your help. I went over to yahoo again to do my search for "Rotary Dryer" (from post above) and click on my link to see if the redirect would work now. It went to the home page of the site when I clicked on the yahoo link instead of the actual Rotary Dryer page on our website. I am wondering if you can try it and see what happens. | | | |

| It still went to the old page for me (tabid=29). Are those old pages still there? I can understand it going to the home page if the old page is not there, but I'm not sure why I still get the old page. Maybe I am seeing a different instance because I'm on the outside of your network.
Anyway, the 301 rule does not appear to be working, so here is another thing to try. In the Rule where it does the match like this : Match("[PB:Request.Url]", change it to this: Match("[PB:Request.Url.Original]" It may be that the Url is getting rewritten by the Url rewriter before the PageBlaster rule has a chance to try and match on it.

| | The old page (tabid=29) still works for you - is it a gray and black website? They shouldn't be there anymore. I just updated the config file to use "[PB:Request.Url.Original]" and the redirects don't appear to be working yet. | | | |

| The image attached is what I see after clicking on the Yahoo search link. If you want, I would be happy to login as host and do some checking. You can send me the login info through PM, or I can continue giving you things to try so we can narrow down what is happening. |

| | Ok, the screenshot you gave me was our old site. We went live with a new blue / water one yesterday. I can view the new one internally here, but it looks like externally everyone is seeing the old site. We just changed web servers and the new site yesterday, so it looks like something must be missing to get it live on the internet yet. I will have to talk to our IT person to see if we can resolve this to the outside world. I will keep you updated on progress... | | | |

| Ok, I think I see where the problem is now. Some of the old tabs have low tabids which require login and/or if the tabid is not there then DNN is sending it to the home page before PageBlaster gets a chance to run the Replacement Rule.
You can try switching the position of PageBlaster and the UrlRewriter in the HttpModules section of the web.config. If that doesn't work, then I'll need to get another solution working that I have in development right now.

| | I moved the urlrewriter to the bottom and changed the id high to 1000. It is only redirecting when I am logged into the website, so for normal users its not working. Does this mean I am going to loose all of my rankings? What is the solution you are developing? | | | |
