Hi,

I installed the PageBlaster, configured for each page, solved the problem with the UTF-8 output (Thanks, John) and now I have a problem:

I created a rule to send the output to a htm file per page, checking "static file". And then the problem: whattever I do with the cache configuration, I see no changes in the final output. It is always the same htm file.

I tried to put cache in memory to 0, disk cache to 0, no way. As I could not keep wrong pages in production, I had to uninstall PageBlaster (It gave me an error that killed the application. I edited the web.config file, commented the snapsis definition, and now is working again)

The funny thing is that, requested the htm file through the browser, I still get back the same htm file, although pageblaster is not installed. I am changing again all the links to the usual tabid//// structure, which is very annoying.  I asked my host support team, and they say nothing is cached at IIS level. The browser I checked in different machines, cleaning the caché, but still the same result: the same bloody htm file showing an outdated version of the page.

Before it was not improving the access speed, but now it is just avoiding the page modifications to show, which is far worst as I am still applying re-design.

Could somebody tell what am I doing wrong?

Yolanda

Hi Yolanda,
If you navigate to the original dynamic page and do a hard refresh (CTRL+F5 in IE, or SHIFT+F5 in FF), then it should rebuild the static htm file.

This is hard to do on the home page since you don't normally have a link with a tabid, you can get to the dynamic one if you click on the home (or whatever you have named it) link in your nav menu. You can also delete the static htm file manually and it will be re-built on the next request.

The static page is also built with an additional hidden iframe call back to the dynamic page, so it should be rebuilding the page according to the cache interval you have setup. It sounds like this may not be working for you so I'll do some testing to make sure that is still woking as intended in the latest version.

Hi, John,

Thanks for the prompt answer. Right now, PageBlaster is not installed, and will not be at least until the re-designing is done.

Still, you said something about deleting the static htm file. I would love that, especially because you can still navigate to it. Where is it? I could not find it. I found the tabmodule cache, and deleted both manually and through the "delete cache" action - on the per page control and the admin control  - and was not having any effect. I did try a search, but nothing with the proper name came up.

Thanks again

Yolanda

If you created a static htm file with the virtual-path setting of PageBlaster then it should of created a real static file with that name in the website folder. So if you had a virtual-path of "default.htm" there should be a default.htm file in the root.
