You're right, native IIS 6.0 compression is much better.  Some people don't have control over this on shared hosts though.  Then again, I don't know why every host wouldn't want to turn it on with the savings in bandwidth you get.

By the way, I have a new version if you'd like to Beta test it.  It improves on the seperation of what gets cached or compressed and honors the "none" on compression correctly.

I'll probably go ahead and release it in the next 24 hours, but if you're interested in getting it now, send me and e-mail to pageblaster [@] snapsis.com

Looks like the it interpreted that stuff as html.

I need to get these forums to allow pasting of code better.

Do you have any advice on that?

What else did you add or changed compared to the last version I downloaded?

Thanks for the blog link. That is something I would put in the pagebase.vb also. Any chance the source of your PageBlaster module will be available? I rather integrate all that stuff in my own DNN build.

I changed the way that the filter is attached to the ouput so that other filters can do work before the output is compressed.
This was already working for the most part except for other filters that had attached very early in the application lifecycle.

I'll be making the whitespace removal and much more available with the Snapsis Replacement Engine.
It plugs-in to this module using a provider interface and accepts RegEx rules like you show above to operate on the page output.

Yes, I'll be making the source available in the next couple of weeks.

If you are talking about the Editor for posts in the Forum. I switched it out with the Active Editor to see if code would post better.

I just switched it back since that didn't help.
