Hi there,

Well i had the blowery compression utility installed and found my portal and filemanager controls were throwing errors.

I read in another forum that the snapsis control does the same thing as blowery plus caching and resolves this problem. I have since removed all the blowery stuff and installed the snapsis control and i am now getting the same error.

This being:

Error: Export Template is currently unavailable.
DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: E:\web\powerdomini\htdocs\Admin\Portal\Template.ascx.vb(176): error BC30560: 'ZipOutputStream' is ambiguous in the namespace 'ICSharpCode.SharpZipLib.Zip'. ---> System.Web.HttpCompileException: E:\web\powerdomini\htdocs\Admin\Portal\Template.ascx.vb(176): error BC30560: 'ZipOutputStream' is ambiguous in the namespace 'ICSharpCode.SharpZipLib.Zip'. at System.Web.Compilation.AssemblyBuilder.Compile() at System.Web.Compilation.BuildProvidersCompiler.PerformBuild() at System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.CompileWebFile(VirtualPath virtualPath) at System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.GetVPathBuildResultInternal(VirtualPath virtualPath, Boolean noBuild, Boolean allowCrossApp, Boolean allowBuildInPrecompile) at System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.GetVPathBuildResultWithNoAssert(HttpContext context, VirtualPath virtualPath, Boolean noBuild, Boolean allowCrossApp, Boolean allowBuildInPrecompile) at System.Web.UI.TemplateControl.LoadControl(VirtualPath virtualPath) at System.Web.UI.TemplateControl.LoadControl(String virtualPath) at DotNetNuke.UI.Skins.Skin.InjectModule(Control objPane, ModuleInfo objModule, PortalSettings PortalSettings) --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

Now i tried excluding the host and admin pages using

  [path pattern="Admin" excludeFrom="All" /]

 [path pattern="Host" excludeFrom="All" /]

But this didnt seem to do anything different.

Any other ideas to get this going as it is a fantastic solution to the dotnetnuke slow load times but i kinda need my file manager.

Cheers

Dont you love it where you post a question then figure out the answer?

It seems i didnt remove all the Blowery files and this was causing the issue.
Once i removed the offending 'ICSharpCode.SharpZipLib.Zip' file everything worked as it should.

Cheers for a great little utility which now allows me to use http compression even though my host wont enable it in IIS.
I wonder if their tune would change if you were not paying for bandwidth?

Thanks again :)

That was going to be my answer, I'm glad you figured it out.

Thanks for the positive feedback.

With the host, I am sure they would like to turn on compression, but trying to configure it on a global scale for all of their websites might be more trouble then it is worth for them.

The great thing about doing it this way is that each site owner can "tune" it to their needs.
