I have an issue with my site. It might not be PageBlaster, but perhaps you have some insight to share ...

The cache on some of my pages - including the entry page - does not refresh as expected. About 2 hours ago I inserted a new HTML module on the front page. This in itself should have cleared the cache - but it did not. I then used the CTRL+F5 trick, and that helps. My browser shows the new version.

The odd thing is, that if I close my browser, re-open it, and navigate to my site, the OLD version is displayed again. I can get the correct version by using the CTRL+F5 trick, but everytime I close the browser and re-open it, the old version is back.

The problem has been verified with IE6, IE7 and Firefox 2.0.0.1. I have also tested this from 3 different physical locations (using Terminal servers I have access to) - and they are all the same. So its not an ISP or Proxy issue.

Any ideas?

(And btw, what is the latest PageBlaster version and where do I obtain it / check if there is a newer?)

:-)

Hi Jesper,
You may need to get the latest version which is 2.1.2

You can do that by going to the order details for your order if you purchased it here and downloading again.  My Orders

If you purchased on Snowcovered then there is an upgrade available in the Patches & HotFixes section.

Sounds cool. Are upgrade instructions included in the ZIP, and is it likely a newer version of PageBlaster will solve the issue?

Yes, & Yes.

Look in the release notes to see what changed an if you want to add anything new to your Snapsis.PageBlaster.config file, but all you really need to do is upload the module over the old one.

When I re-download, the filename is "Snapsis.DNN.PageBlaster_2.0.0_PWD.zip".

The file is password protected, and also has a version name of "2.0.0". Am I downloading the correct file, and whats with the password? (You can use the e-mail address supplied with my user account if you dont want the reply in the forum).

Perhaps I just need to download the free version and replace the DLL file? Or something?

Are you still compiling a package? I did not recieve any files yet :-)

I am not in total panic, as my site runs fine with this minor glitch, but I am eager to see if a newer version of PageBlaster solves the issue. Mostly because if it doesent, I'll start looking at other possibilities.

Yes, I sent it right away.
It must have been blocked.
E-mail me to make sure I get your correct address and I'll reply with a location to download it directly.
