Hi John

I have PageBlaster installed as default and it works fine.  However, I find that when I log in as host everything slows down.  For example, if I am trying to insert a text/html module onto the page it takes forever for the module to load.  Are there some adjustments I might make in order to speed things up without causing difficulties in other areas?

Thanks

Lynn

Hi Lynn,
You can try caching the Roles that are making updates to see if it helps. The problem with caching users that are logged in though is that if they make an update it has to clear the cache anyway so unless you are just browsing around as a user who is allowed to make updates that won't help either. To cache a role you just need to specifiy the role name in the cached-roles field of the config.

The PageBlaster module does have some features for making updates outside of the DotNetNuke framework. For example if you want to have an external HTML file you can load it into the framework using [RE:LoadFile(MyFile.htm)]. To use this method you would create your own replacement tag, and include that in the Html output (using a text/html module or other means). Then you would create a replacement rule that replaces your Tag with the LoadFile method.

If you are interested in in using the LoadFile method I can give a more detailed example of how to do it.
