Hello,

I just wondering if you can outline the major differences between the free version of PageBalster vs PageBlaster for DNN?

Thanks.

The main difference between the PageBlaster module for DNN and the free PageBlaster is that the module "knows" about DotNetNuke. Code has been added to allow replacements to be done on DotNetNuke specific items (over 100 tokens), and the caching provider is also able to cache by role or specific user.

The DNN module adds the ability for using virtual paths to the cached file (something like friendly urls), and the ability to change settings (cache duration, excludes, replacements) on the page level, and portal level for replacements.

The free PageBlaster works on all ASP.Net websites and the configuration is applied globally to the complete website.

I would like to make sure PageBlaster for DNN will give me a real speed boost over and above KeepAlive (which I am using now).

If I install the free version should I see the same performance improvements I would see when I purchase PageBlaster DNN?

Yes, the Free PageBlaster gives you the same performance boost as the DNN Module unless you are logged in. The free version only caches for unauthenticated users which is the recommended way to cache your pages. With the DNN version you could cache by logged in user, but this is usually not a very big gain. The reason being that with caching anonymous you can usually have many page requests for the same page, but if the user is logged in, then the cached page has to be unique for each user, so it may not even be requested more than once.

You will see a difference with the free version and it does not overlap with the Keep Alive modules. In other words it's good to have both.
