Howdy,

I finally purchased the module, and intalled it on my site.  I kept everything in the confg as default, until I can understand it all.  In the document, it states that I may never have a reson to add the module to pages, since rules or configuration can be done at a global level (I guess this mean in the config).   That is fine with me, the less configuration the better, but I just need to confirm my assumption.

After loading the module and setting my web.config, I do see records written to the desktopmodules/Snapsis/PageBlaster/Cache folder, so I would guess it is working.   My assumption is that you would only add PageBlaster modules to pages if for some reason you need to exclude some other pages from processing....  is this correct?     If so, under what types of scenarios would you want to exclude pages from PageBlaster?

I have several pages with forms, and other pages with datagrids.  Would this type of page be an issue, if leaving PageBlaster operate globally?

Not being very technical (and not a developer), I am struggling with some of the terms in the document and config, but if I do not need to touch the settings, I won't go near them.

Thanks very much,
Terence

Hi Terence,
Thank you for purchasing.

The main reason to add the module to a page is so you can setup configuration on the page and override the global settings (the ones in Snapsis.PageBlaster.Config). This includes cache time settings, exclusions, and replacement rules, and also if you want to set a virtual path to that specific page.

Another reason to have it on a page is to configure Portal-wide (instead of site/host wide) replacements.

You would not add it to a page exclude other pages, only to easily set the page you add it to be excluded from one or more processes like caching, compression, or replacements.

You have the right idea though. If the settings are working for you, and you don't have any problems with specific pages, then there is no reason to do more configuration.
