Currently in the core forum each post is linked to the core forum profile of the user (it is based on user id)

On our site we use a central profile and we would like the link to redirect there

The syntax of the central profile link (based on user id as well) is

The questions is can we pick up the user id from the forum profile link and insert and redirect to our central profile page?

Thanks.

Hi Ivan,
Yes, with Pageblaster you can rework that forum link to a totally different link in the output of the page. No redirecting would be required, it would just change the original link.

Just to make sure. Can this be done dynamically though? Like for exmaple on this forum when I click on your name "John Mitchel" it takes me to your AF profile. Can I change the landing page for all these links (all users of the forums) to something else but dynamically insert the userid which I will take from the currrent link?

Thanks.

Hi Ivan,
Yes, PageBlaster can search for and replace any html that is output in your page, and it uses Regex so it can capture "groups" of information like UserId, etc and re-arrange them.

As an example, you can see I have used it to rearrange links on my DNN support forum to make them more SEO friendly.
