Hi

I've recently had to move all my dotnetnuke sites. The hosting company runs a medium trust policy. when I moved the site and try and run it I get this error:

Security Exception

Description: The application attempted to perform an operation not allowed by the security policy. To grant this application the required permission please contact your system administrator or change the application's trust level in the configuration file.

Exception Details: System.Security.SecurityException: Request for the permission of type 'System.Security.Permissions.SecurityPermission, mscorlib, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' failed.

Source Error:

An unhandled exception was generated during the execution of the current web request. Information regarding the origin and location of the exception can be identified using the exception stack trace below.

Stack Trace:

[SecurityException: Request for the permission of type 'System.Security.Permissions.SecurityPermission, mscorlib, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' failed.]

 System.Web.HttpApplication.InitModulesCommon() +66
 System.Web.HttpApplication.InitInternal(HttpContext context, HttpApplicationState state, MethodInfo[] handlers) +814

 System.Web.HttpApplicationFactory.GetApplicationInstance(HttpContext context) +106
 System.Web.HttpRuntime.ProcessRequestInternal(HttpWorkerRequest wr) +340

Is there a fix for this? Do you know if your modules run in medium trust?

Cheers

Mark

Hi Mark,

Yes, that error is an issue from medium trust and the trace logging.
Send me an e-mail -- pageblaster AT snapsis DOT com -- and I'll send you a DLL that has the trace logging removed so it will work in medium trust.
