Can I use this method through the advance module setting or I have to install pageblaster separately on each page?

Thank you.

Hi,
You don't need to display PageBlaster on all pages.
To do a replacement Rule that works on all Pages, put it in the Portal Rules section.

I had to delete your other post because it wouldn't come up with all that html from the PageBlaster UI in the post.

To answer that question though, you will not have anything in the Page Rules section until you put something there, and yes, the Saved Rules are not used until you put them in the Page Rules or Portal Rules section.

I understand PB does not need to be on all pages, however when working with friendly URL's and pages that are in the Solpart Menu, an instance is needed on that specific page to setup the virtual path for that page (Am I right?). In my case due to several pages in the Menu, being able to add PB to all pages via the above method is far easier than navigating to each page I would need the instance. I could instead go back to the pages I would not need the instance of PB and remove it. I'm probably answering my own question here and I've not done any testing, but I've used this ability in the past and if memory serves, the instance of the module is copied to another page along with all settings, and the changes that can be made without effecting all module instances are security roles and regular module settings such as view, print, etc. I'll do some testing on this to confirm, however any input from others that have tried this is welcome...................

Yes, you are correct. Although you could edit the ResourceLocationTable.config file directly if you didn't want to put a PageBlaster module on the page just for a Virtual Path.

Setting it to display on all pages so that you can set the virtual path would also work as you described because PageBlaster would be updating the ResourceLocationTable.config file correctly for each page.  Doing this would cause a slight performance decrease though because the module would be loaded on every page.

Ok, does the PB have to be installed on the home page? Or, you can install it on any page and still have the same page download speed? My home page has Active Forum and I don't like that the new messages do not show up immediately to the new comers. So even if there is a new message the return visitors does not see the new messages, unless they log in or use ctrl  + f5. How can I fix this? MY PB is on the home page.

I would recommend keeping your home page fairly static so that you can also keep it as fast as possible.
Having your home page change too often will slow it down because it will always need to retrieve the latest information from the database.

If you want to keep your forums as the prominent content of your site you could make the cache interval for that page smaller, or you could make it exclude the home page from caching.

If you have a PageBlaster module on the home page you can control the cache interval or exclude it from caching when you edit the configuration of the module.

The bottom line is that caching can make your page must faster by delivering a "snapshot" of the page from a certain point in time.  To take more snapshots you lower the cache interval time. If you lower the cache time then you may not get as much performance benefit from the cached page depending on how many requests you have for the page. But if you have a lot of traffic you can have a very low cache interval and still gain a lot.
