Just how much can the friendly URLS function do?

Hi, Just wondering if there's a possibility of being able to pass certain elements through Friendly URLS function such as USERID? For example, could I turn. blahblah.com/some/random/user/[USERID[/blah/tabid/40/default.aspx into... blahblah.com/[USERID] or replace userid with username?

Hi, Yes, using Replacement Rules the output html in your page can be reworked for Urls like that. I also have a newer version that can look up any profile information by grabbing the UserId from the page output, but it's not quite ready yet.

Is it only for the output HTML or could for example users have the ability to display inbound referrer URL's like www.thesite.com/[USERID] the idea would be something like the myspace.com/johndoe style, is that possible?

If you are asking if the input Url formatted like that would automatically take them to their own page then the answer is no. Each page would need to be setup manually and the virtual path would have to have an aspx extension, you would not be able to do it like a folder.

Hi, sorry to bug you again but I have a sort of off topic question. How might I get that drop down login box you have on this site on my own? Is that something in 4.6.2? I'm still on 4.5.5

The Floating Login is a modification that I have made to the skinning engine of DotNetNuke. I used to have it as a module, but there have been too many changes in the login process for DNN which requires a rebuild on almost every upgrade.
