Hi All,

I cannot open the site at all after installing the Page Blaster module. It keeps loading the page, until finally showed the Cannot Display Webpage page. Anyone can help me to solve this. Thanks in advance.

Hi John,

I thank you for you immediate response. As previously discussed, I commented out the Compression on the web.config and add the PageBlaster on the httpModules tag. Then, I am also add virtual-path /registerme.aspx to source /default.aspx?tabid=55. What I am trying to do is log out, but as a result I cannot go back to my site at all. It will loading for long time before finally throw me with cannot display web page message. Please help..

it sounds like you might be having a problem with the Portal Alias and not PageBlaster, but to make sure that PageBlaster is not a problem you can remove it from the web.config http modules section.

Hi John,

Can you help me to setup the page exclude? I already added the page blaster module to the download software page and exclude as follow /DOWNLOADSOFTWARE/tabid/75/DMXModule/510/EntryId/480/Default.aspx. Then, I choose all to the second field. But it still doesn;t fix the problem.

Yes, add a module to the page and set the pattern to:

.*

Then choose ALL for Exclude From

It works. So, I have to add pageBlaster module to all of my download page, currently I have three different page which allow users to download either software, documentation or tools. Is there an easy way of doing this. So, I want only registration page that has this page blaster, the rest of it will not be going to affected. Since, we commented the compression, so which option should I pick for excluded path (Compression, Caching, CompressionAndCaching, Replacement). Thanks for your help.

You can do it by adding a module to each page, or you could edit the Snapsis.PageBlaster.Config file in the root and add an exclude Path there.
If you have something that is common in the Url of all the pages like the word "download" then you could just add it to that list of pages that is already in the config file.

path pattern="(\.asmx|\.axd|\.asxh|rss|fck|install|thumb|wizard|cart|download)" excludeFrom="All"

Thanks for all your help, John. One last question, how can we tell if this module increase the speed performance more than using compression or keep alive.

After all, it works like a champ now.

Using a keep-alive is still a good idea if you do not get at least one visitor every 20 minutes. I use an external monitoring system to call several pages on my site every 15 minutes.
Or, if you have access to the application pool settings you could set the Idle timeout to a value higher than 20 minutes.

You should be able to visibly see a speed difference when browsing around the site (when not logged in).
To test the speed you can use any web site speed tester. Make sure you run the test more than once so that there will be a cached page delivered instead of it having to build from the database.
