Easy Replacement But, Can't Seem To Get It To Work

This is my first attempt at using PageBlaster to do alittle clean-up work so please bare with me.

I've got a page level rules that has:

Search For: >VISIT

Replace with >DOWNLOAD

This is basically to replace my VISIT links in the Repository module with Download.  But, for some reason it doesn't seem to be applying.

I'm sure it is something simple I'm missing.  Any idea what I need to change?

Found that the above just removes the link all together.

Can anyone help me with this?  I have a feeling that I'm doing something simple but wrong.

I've tried:

Search for : VISIT

Replace with DOWNLOAD as well.  This causes the page to stop working as well.

Hi Ben,

For some reason that page is being excluded.  Do you have an excludePath setup that applies to that page?

Actually, it appears that PageBlaster is excluded on all pages.

Hi John.
Found out why it is excluded. But, for some reason it works when I'm logged in, but the text disappears when I'm not.

Is it my replace rule that is causing this issue?

Seems odd, when I'm logged in VISIT becomes DOWNLOAD. But, when I'm not it stays as VISIT. Could it be since the PageBlaster module is set to only be seen by the admin user? I wouldn't think that would be the issue, but reaching.

Yes, that would be the reason. PageBlaster honors security on the module before applying any of the replacement rules that you have configured for that instance of the module.

Thanks John, that was the fix. Just wondering you said it appears PB is excluded from all pages?

It's working again now. What every you found out about the downloads page being excluded must have also been the reasons that all pages were being excluded.

John, just wondering is there another version of PB in the works? It is a great swiss army knife, just wondering what is on the road map.

Yes, I'm trying to get a new version out in the next couple of weeks.
One of the big enhancements will be Conditional Tokens that will allow for you to do replacements depending on the value of Host Headers, Cookies, Form Variables, etc.

Hi John,
Found something interesting. Any ideas on how to look after this.
1) If I click on http://www.bahrenburgs.com/Downloads.aspx everything works fine
2) But, if I click on the dashboard http://www.bahrenburgs.com/Default.aspx?id=1&tabid=56 and my replacements don't fire

I think this is because of the default rule < path pattern="\?(?!tabid)" excludeFrom="All" />

Is there away to modify the excludePaths so that it will fire in this case?

I think what is happening is your Dashboard has links that are actually a POST back to the server.
By default all posts are excluded because Ajax posts don't like having a filter attached to the output stream.

I'm working on a way to still allow POSTS to do replacements for the next release.
