Hi John,

A new week, a new problem :)

We are using load-balancer and behind the scenes two web-servers with the exact copy of DotNetNuke and one Database server.

Everything is working fine excect our page editors get acess denied message 8 times out of 10 times they try to access any page.

This is really strange, sometimes they are able to access and edit the page but most of the times not.

While "host" is always able to edit all the pages.

Any CLUES?

It depends on how the load-balancer is setup and if the authentication cookie is being passed through correctly.
One thing that may help is if the remember me option is used when they login so that the cookie stays persistent.

If you can, you would be better off to make sure that anyone updating your site always hits the same server.

Maybe you can give them a special hostname.domainname Url to insure that they always go to the same server.

I am pretty sure one of my customers has a configuration with 2 webservers, and some kind of mechanism which ensures that users are always served by the same server for their entire session.

Don't know if it is an easy thing to do, or if it is some cowboy-trick implemented somewhere else in the infrastructure (firewall, inbound proxy, etc).

Want me to check it out?

:-)
