Hi,

I'm setting up a portal for a local community - I'd like to use several domains that I have registered on the same portal, but that each domain would have it's own landing page.

So example my main site address could be www.mylocalarea.com but I would like to have www.aspecificplace.com to direct to a single tab (and sub-tabs) on the site.

I guess that this would need to be consistent for the tab (i.e. either as a landing page or if navigated to through the site menu) to avoid duplicate content problems with SEO.

Can I do this with pageblaster?

Hi,
You can do this without PageBlaster, but PageBlaster makes some of the details a little easier.

I am actually doing what you describe on this site.
If you go to http://www.dotnetnukeskins.com or http://css-template-skins.com they are actually different tabs on this same portal.

The trick to doing it without PageBlaster is using the SiteUrls.config file to make specific domains go to a specific tab.
After that you can install a different skin that only includes the menu items you want for that specific domain.

It gets tricky, and you really need to pay attention to all the details of what links will show on each domain.
I use my own Navigation Menu to narrow down what navigation items are shown in each skin.
You can see that the navigation between these domains links back to each other so it helps with SEO in that regard, but you are correct, it is really hard to keep a spider from indexing the entire portal on the wrong domain.

My CSS NavMenu probably does more to help than PageBlaster does, but if you notice that a link is not right, or you want to get rid of a section of page output then PageBlaster can really help with that.

Thanks for the reply.  I'd never even realized that siteurls was there (I should have subscribed to your blog).

I'm definately purchasing pageblaster once the new release is out so I hang on for that before I look at this one again.
