Few questions...

Hi,

I have just purchased and installed PageBlaster 2.2.4 and have a few questions.

1) I have had to move the  web.config entrty:

before:

because for some links it would move to the sites homepage rather than the correct page as specified.  Moving the entry seemed to fix the problem - is this usual?

2) I have some pages that end with ".../Default.aspx?="  is there any way I can get the "?=" removed. 

3) If I have a url that is: /Pages/Homes/tabid/57/v1/Colchester/Default.aspx

is there any way I can get it to use just:

/Colchester.aspx

4) I have also bought the xpidea seo for pageblaster module - any idea if that will be compatible with version 3 of pageblaster? 

5) Sometimes in internet explorer I click on a link and it gives me a "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" - whereas on Firefox it works fine - any ideas what this might be.  This has only started tonight since I have installed pageblaster.  There is no pageblaster module installed on that page and also no Portal Rules reference it.

6) Some of my urls end with ".../Default.aspx?v1=x" for example - because the "?v1=x" is present it does not use the friendly name.  If I remove the "v1=x" then it works fine - any idea how to make it ignore the "?v1=x" bit.

7) Is there email support? or is all support done via the forums?

Sorry for so many questions - looks like a great product.  I am on DNN 4.8.1.  I have not yet installed the xpidea seo for pageblaster.

#1, Yes, the web.config entry needs to be before the UrlRewrite module if you are using the Virtual Path feature. That is a mistake in the install instructions.

I don't really understand number #2, but if you want to remove and/or replace any links in the output of your pages it is possible.

For #3, that is possible if you put a PageBlaster module on that page and set the virtual path.

#4, Yes, the SEO module from XPIdea will also work with version 3.x without any modifications.

#5, We'll need to get more specific about the page and look for a way to recreate the issue, but I have not had any general problems like that brought to my attention.

#6, I would need to understand better how the ?v1=x is being added and what exactly you want to ignore it, but in general you can change any links in the output of your pages.

#7, Yes, if you have any sensitive information that you do not want to put in the forums, then you can e-mail directly, but I would rather use the forums if possible so everyone can benefit.  If you need to e-mail directly you can do so by clicking on my username, or responding to a notification from these forums directly.
