Hi John,

I currently use IIS Compression on my site and the performance is greatly boost. However, I still want to use PB for its unique features: caching, combining js and CSS,...

So my question is: can I disable PB's compression and still use the other features?

Thanks,

Duc

Hi Duc,
Yes, you can easily disable compression for all pages by setting the compression level to none, or by creating an excludePath like this:

< path pattern=".*" excludeFrom="Compression" />

Hi John,

I have a dedicated server and only one dnn site running on it.  From a performance standpoint, which is better to do - turn off PB compression and use IIS compression or vice versa?

Thanks,

Paul

For perfomance, IIS compression is better.

For flexability PageBlaster is better because you can have compression, but easily configure exclusions on each website, whereas with IIS you have to configure it for the whole server and it isn't too easy.
