Hi John,

I have the following setup:

DNN: 04.06.02

Snapsis PageBlaster: 03.01.06

I have purchase it but I'm still running the site off the dev environment so I'm using the ip address as the license key. The rules are running globally.

This is the URL http://corp.wsitho.com, I can send login details in private if you need. The problem is that the rules are running in one moment and not in the next. Yesterday they were running just fine. Now today in the morning they are no longer running.

This has happened before and all of a sudden they started to run again. Right now they are not getting back at all.

I'm using PageBlaster to make a site W3C compliant. Yesterday I got no errors, because PageBlaster was working fine. Today I got all errors back

http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fcorp.wsitho.com%2F&charset=%28detect+automatically%29&doctype=Inline&ss=1&outline=1&group=1&No200=1&verbose=1

I have tried to "Restart the Application" under host, I have cleaned the cache and nothing.

I have attached the web.config file in case you need. I have removed the database connectivity from the file on purpose.

Any light you can give me here?

Thanks,
-Aderson

Hi Aderson,
My guess is that you may be accessing the site from a different IP than what you have specified in the License Key.
This can happen even if you are using the same computer if you are behind a router that has more than one IP.

If you go to the license entry field in Admin > PageBlaster when it is not working and compare your current IP to the one in the field you'll probably see that they are not the same.

Also keep in mind that unless the Validator gets a cached page that was created from a request that matched the computer IP, then it will create its own, and then the validator's IP won't match, so those rules won't run.

The Portal and Page Rules will only work for one IP unless you enter a professional license key.

I would recommend putting the actual key in.

That was it! Thank you! It worked!

On your note I have a question. If I put the final valid ID on my dev site domain, will I be able to run PageBlaster from the final domain once we move it live? Basically I need the site to be finished on the dev site (including letting other people see it) and them move it live later on.

What should be the license key strategy here?

Thanks,
-Aderson

You can move the license key when you are ready. It's also ok to use it in both places as long as one is only for development.

Actually by Monday we will need to get it on the live domain, but we will still have things to do on the dev and to keep moving live. So the lic key will work when I move live?

You said "You can move the license key when you are ready". So how is the process of "moving"? Do I have to do anything special?

Sorry for the number of questions. I just want to ensure I know these answers up front before Monday.

Thanks for the quick turnaround as usual!

I guess move was the wrong word. You can use the same license key on more than one install. The key is not activated with your DNN install (hardware or software) so it is up to you to honor the license.
