Hello, I've been trying to get PB installed into DNN 4.8.2.  I had some problmes with 2.1.6 and .7.  Most of the problems was getting the old versions out to load 3.2.0.  Version 3.2.0 is installed and doing compression, caching, moving the viewstate to be bottom of the page - all that stuff.  All "looks" ok in the page and view source looks like the html is being processed.  BUT it now takes 20 seconds to change pages..any page, any time, always (almostly exactly 20 seconds) not mater what.  Before PB, about 1-2 seconds changing pages (tab menu items).  So, getting ready for debugging, I set up a test system, copied the entire DNN directory and  SQL DB.  Set up a new W3K EE Server and no problem with page times.  The only think that I know is different is the test system is on my local net and the problem system is behind a PIX firewall.  Other than that, the two environments are as close as then can be.

Hi Jon,

Are the slow times when you are logged in? If so, does it get better when you log out?
Can you can give me a link to the site that is having problems? You can send it in private message if you don't want to put it here.

Hello, Logged or not, same problem.  The site is www.castlegarde.com.  I had worked on this problem a few weeks ago and had to get the site into production.  I can't install PB due to the performance hit.  I'll set up a mirror site in the same environment and give your the details.

I'm seeing a 404 error on your home page for this stylesheet:
http://www.castlegarde.com/Portals/_default/Skins/CastleGarde_S/Menu/dnn/styles.css

If I try to go directly to that page I see a nice 404 message inside your portal which is probably from some other module you have installed.

I wonder if maybe there is a conflict with the two modules and the 404. Can you try correcting that and see if it helps?

Humm... There is no styles.css at that location.  I'll find out why.  I am using SEO from your friends at DNNMasters for URL rewrite.  I don't know if this plays into this or orher problems I'm having.  I'll let you know about the missing css after I test it.  How did you discover the 404; what tools or knowledge?  I ask for my education in that it's something I should have check already.

I use YSlow for FireBug which is a FireFox plug-in.

FireBug and YSlow are awesome tools for web optimization and trouble-shooting.
