Hi,

I installed page blaster on one of my sites this morning - now the login and register links do not work.   I get this error:  "_dopostback is not defined"...

Any ideas?

This can happen if the .axd files are not excluded.
These files are excluded by default in the Snapsis.PageBlaster.config file though.

Do you have the Snapsis.PageBlaster.config file in your website root, and a line that looks like the following in it ?

path pattern="(\.asmx|\.axd|\.ashx|rss|fck|admin|install|thumb|wizard|cart)" excludeFrom="All"

Have you removed the core DNN compression module from the web.config?

Can you give me a link to check it out?

Yes, te core DNN compression module has been removed from web.config. I'm testing Page Blaster on a site under construction: www.manitobahomefinder.com

Ok, i just checked and PageBlaster is installed and working correctly on that site.
I didn't get any javascript errors.

What sometimes happens is that a bad Webresource.axd will get stuck in the bowser cache on your machine. If you do CTRL+Refresh in IE or SHIFT+Refresh in FireFox it should clear the cache and resolve the error.

That fixed the problem accessing the login and registration forms for the site on my PC - thanks for your assistance !

After I initially tried your suggestion yesterday afternoon, it worked OK, but I've gone to the site about four times since then - each time I had to follow the same procedure (CTRL+Refresh in IE or SHIFT+Refresh in FireFox) in order to get the Login and Register links to work.

Any ideas as to why I am getting a "bad Webresource.axd" stuck in my browser cache every time I visit the site?

Just wondering if I am the only one experiencing this issue. On most instances, when I go to www.manitobahomefinder.com - the login and register links don't work. I get the same behaviour from more than one of my PC's when going to the site ...

I wonder if this has anything to do with using the Ventrian friendly URL dll on this site.

Hi,

I too am using ventrial friendly urls and the snapsis page blaster....

When i click 'login' or 'register' is just says 'javascript_doPostBack('dnn$Login$cmdLogin....bla bla...' but nothing happens.  However, if I continue to hover the curser over the login button, it loads the login page....very strange!!

I need a fix for this as people tdo log into my site and I dont want them to have problems.

Anna

sunsethill,

I'm not seeing any problems on the www.manitobahomefinder.com site.

Anna,

The error you are describing is the same as the original in this thread. Please check to make sure you have the exclude pattern mentioned earlier so that \.axd files are excluded.

You might also need to clear your browser cache.

I'll be gald to give it a closer look if you want to give me link.

Hi,

I do have the exclude pattern in my config file. I cleared my browser cache, but it still happens unfortunately. My website is www.in8website.co.uk

I also wanted to ask - are there any speed benefits in upgrading to the full paid-for version of pageblaster? I'm on a mission to improve my SEO and website speeds.

Hi Anna,
I tried out your site, but it looks like you do not have PageBlaster enabled right now. It's very slow, but looks very good!

For performance, the free version may be all you need. But for SEO, the DNN module can really let you fine tune your site page by page.

I see it working now, and it is a little faster, but there appears to be problems with the connection to your webserver. I'm also not seeing any pages being cached to memory so you may need to ask your host/isp if there is some kind of memory limiter placed on your account.

The login and register links worked for me without error.

Hi Anna,

Just wondering if you have found a solution to this issue?  It's weird, when I go to www.manitobahomefinder.com - most times, the Login and Register links do not work.  But if I click the Terms or Privacy links, those links do work.  Once I am on the Terms or Privacy pages, the Login and Register links magically work.  Also, if I go back to the Home page after being on Terms or Privacy, then the Login and Register links work.  It is only when clicking on these links when the page first loads that I am experiencing this problem.

Once I find a solution to this issue, I plan to use Page Blaster on a few of my sites.  I've attached a screenshot illustrating the problem.  Note:  This happens even after the cache has been cleared.

UPDATE:  I had to temporarily remove Page Blaster from the site as I noticed some other very interesting behaviour.  When going into Admin/Site Settings with PageBlaster running, I would see a second set of all the controls on that page immediatelty following the original controls.  (i.e. as if a duplicate of the site settings page appeared directly below the site settings...)  If there are any changes to Page Blaster that address some of the issues I have experienced, I'd be glad to test them on my site as I like the potential of having pages load faster - but I need the login and register links to work everytime someone clicks on them when the home page initially loads.

Hi saf,
Are you getting the javascript error? Or is the problem that you click on the login link and nothing happens at all?
