I installed PB 3.2.2 community last week, and have only one cache file whose date and name doesn't appear to change.

I have the DNN compression line commented out in web.config, and CSS/JS lines commented, and in web.config I un-commented the static file handler.

Today I went to DNN 4.8.4 and made sure everything is properly set up in web.config and ran the upgrade, which went really fast.

How else do I verify that PB is working besides looking in the .../cache folder??

Thank you, Tom

Hi Tom,

If you edit the Snapsis.PageBlaster.config file trace node to Level="Header", you can then look at the response headers with something like http://web-sniffer.net/

Thanks...unfortunately this install is on localhost and an internal IP not connected to the internet.
Still working on getting it to live...seemed snappy enough last week when I got it installed etc., no errors during install...
Thank you, Tom

Keep in mind that no cache files will be created unless you are not logged in or if you have defined cached-users, or cached-roles.

If you want to check the response header locally you could use an app like Fiddler

OIC...thank you...I'll log in as something and see what happens, as well as check cached-users and cached-roles.

My viewing after the update was as anonymous, not any logged-in user.

The vast majority of users on the site when it goes live will be anonymous users, not logged-in users, is there a setting(s) which covers anon users??

Thank you, Tom

Anonymous user caching is the default.
My wording was a double negative so a little hard to follow, but if you are not logged in it should cache, if you are logged in it will only cache if you set cached-users or cached-roles. Caching logged in users is not recommended, but available if you really want to.

Then something is off because when I was looking at it today, no new cache files were created in addition to a cache file created 6/11/08...I will try reversing the changes I made in the config files and see what happens.
Thank you, Tom

One more thing you can check is the cache settings under Admin>PageBlaster.

I will check the settings, but I don't think I changed anything.
Would un-installing and re-installing be helpful??
Thank you, Tom

You can do that. If you uninstall though, remember to remove PageBlaster from web.config first though, since the module un-installer doesn't modify web.config

PB itself somehow got commented out in the web.config.

No idea how that happened, but that is fixed and it's working properly, putting things in the cache folder etc.

Used the .* to allow all users to cache, previously nothing was set to cache, probably should change it to just anon users when it goes live.

Thank you, Tom
